But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be... the poly that won’t be…by our own front door.

  • 8 things left to do on the list
  • 7 days of take-out
  • 6 metres of wall left to paint
  • 5 minutes left until the ‘chandelier’ hits the dumpster
  • 4 glasses of champagne toasting a counter-top that fit on the first cut (whew!)
  • 3 trips to Home Depot – total. Not bad, eh?
  • 2 amazing friends who spent their whole weekend face-first with slimy plumbing
  • 1 very ugly kitchen – about to expire

Yup, it’s beginning to look a lot like a kitchen. (And Lauren and Paolo can hardly wait … to remove the wine glasses from the floor).

  1. Wow, it is coming along Lauren! I hope you haven’t taken on the Christmas cooking duties though…I don’t think it’s quite ready for that :)

    • Thanks Shannon!

Christmas cooking has been entirely outsourced – out of my hands & off-property! Unless my family wants to amuse their bouches with paint & primer. I could meet those needs.

  2. ahhh! You are ahead of us! Congrats! Can’t wait to see how it turns out!

  3. Can’t wait to see all the pictures instead of all this teasing!! :)

  4. Holy smokes, I can’t believe you’re almost done already!! You guys deserve a serious eggnog break. I can’t wait to see the big reveal!!

    • It was action in the vein of “don’t get mad, get even” — your flip was leaving ours in the dust. So I’d better turn off the computer & pick up the paint brush…. just.want.to.finish….

  5. I love the countertop. Great choice! Good luck with the rest of the project. Like Liz said above – can’t wait to see the reveal!

    • Thanks! I love it too but it stinks right now — might have just undone all our VOC-free goodness with some disgusting kind of oil/wood sealant. Bleh.

  6. Woo-hoo! That’s some serious Christmas hinting! Should we wait til 12/25 to unwrap the after?

  7. Amazing! I love the countertop and the cool skully bandaid. I’m surprised that you haven’t given the chandy away–everyone seems to be spray painting them with wild colors.
    Looking forward to more photos.
